The city of São Paulo was the stage for a large meeting between great women, with the first Brazilian edition of Women in the World. Nizan Guanaes, chairman of ABC Group and Tina Brown, editor-in-chief of Newsweek magazine and of The Daily Beast website, were responsible for the event, which was produced by TUDO.
The meeting gathered women from several cultures, who are brave enough to fight injustice in their countries, seeking for practical solutions through partner organizations. Women in the World is an annual meeting focused on speeches by CEOs and global leaders to activists, where stories of actual changes and improvement in the lives of women around the world are told. It is organized by the homonymous Foundation dedicated to seek for solutions, encourage, and promote social initiatives run by women throughout the world. Moderated by important Brazilian journalists and personalities, the event gathered names such as Tina Brown, Diane von Furstenberg, Nizan Guanaes, the former American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Xuxa, Glória Maria, Mônica Waldvogel, among others.
